ABOUT ARKADIA

Arkadia specialises in the acquisition, management, leasing and development of a diversified property portfolio throughout Australia.

Arkadia's core business and area of expertise is focused in the retail and leisure asset classes. Today, the group mandate has expanded to 3 hotels and 12 centres along the east coast of Australia.  The retail portfolio alone includes a mix of neighbourhood and large format retail centres, while the wider retail portfolio including retail arcades, retail complexes and free-standing retail shops, all located in prime trade areas on the Eastern Seaboard.

Typically, our retail centres are anchored by major blue chip national tenants whilst incorporating a wide cross-section of high-quality specialty retailers.

Being a private group of our size and scale allows us to be both nimble and dynamic in how we operate existing assets and view new opportunities. We maintain a low gearing throughout the group to be able to take advantage of evolving real estate markets.

Peter Cortis-Jones

Head of Property

Peter Cortis-Jones jointly established Arkadia with Greg Karedis back in 2006.

Since its inception, Arkadia has continued to innovate and evolve. Today, Peter remains responsible for charting the course of the business, together with delivering growth of assets under management.

He was previously a Director at CB Richard Ellis. Prior to that, Peter held roles with GPT and Lend Lease.

George Mihailou

Senior Portfolio Manager

George Mihailou is the Portfolio Manager of all shopping centre assets within the group. George also works together on projects and major tenant leasing for the group, including new shopping centre projects. George has formerly held Asset Management roles within AMP Capital Investors and Jones Lang LaSalle. George also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Property Economics) degree.

Senior Portfolio Manager

Karlene Orpin is the Senior Portfolio Manager of Arkadia’s Large Format Retail centre assets, including Aspley Homemaker City in Brisbane and Nunawading Homemaker HQ in Melbourne. Karlene has worked in shopping centre asset management for the past 16 years and works closely with Arkadia’s leasing and marketing teams in ensuring the best strategic tenancy mix and centre branding is achieved.   Karlene’s previous roles managing large retail format centres in Sydney included the rebranding of a large scale development, and the re branding of a large metropolitan centre, and involvement in marketing, leasing, tenancy mix, and strategic development.

Jay Ridgeway

Portfolio Manager

Jay Ridgeway is a Portfolio Manager responsible for the management of a portfolio of large format retail centres, together with other investments. He has previously held roles with DTZ in London and Sydney and Workman Retail, a UK-based Property Management firm. In each of these roles, he gained invaluable experience managing shopping centres, retail parks, factory outlets and strip shops for a range of clients, including a number of very high-profile investors.

Pietta Lacey is the Centre Manager of Homemaker The Valley, Queensland’s largest homemaker centre. Pietta brings a wealth of shopping centre management experience with a career in the industry spanning 30 years managing a vast portfolio of large format centres through to Australia’s largest traditional retail shopping centre. Pietta’s strengths include forging collaborative retailer relationships, driving asset performance and strong attention to detail. Prior to Arkadia, Pietta has worked with CBRE, AMP Capital Shopping Centres and Colonial.

Rebecca Boyd-Bais
Rebecca Boyd-Bais

Property Services Manager

Rebecca Boyd-Bais is responsible for the management of the hotel retail assets for Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort and Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific as well as Arkadia’s retail shopping assets including The Zone Maroochydore in Queensland. Rebecca also works on projects and tenant leasing for the group and focus’ on best strategic tenancy mix.

Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Master’s in International Trade and Commerce Law.

Steve James
Steve James

Leasing Manager

Steve James is a Leasing Manager for Arkadia. Steve is responsible for new leasing, major tenant relations and major project leasing. Steve is a specialist in large format retail and retail leasing. He has completed a Master of Property Development, Graduate Diploma in Property Development, Advanced Diploma in Property Valuation and Diploma of Property in Real Estate. Steve is a registered Valuer and a Licensed Real Estate Agent.
Steve has recently joined Arkadia from CBRE, where he was the Manager of Large Format Retail for NSW.

Leasing Manager

With 20 years property experience in both the public & private sector, Nick has extensive retail property knowledge Australia-wide.

This has included key leasing roles across Melbourne & Sydney, as Senior Leasing Manager for The Rocks & Darling Harbour precinct with NSW Government - and REITs including Vicinity (formerly CFSGAM) and as Senior Leasing Manager at Aventus Group.

In addition to his proven leasing experience in development projects over the years, Nick has established invaluable retailer relationships.

Senior Property Accountant

Joe Adra is the Property Accountant for Arkadia Property Services. With almost 15 years of accounting experience within the property industry, Joe is an invaluable member of the group. Joe’s previous experience includes portfolio and trust accounting at Jones Lang LaSalle and property accounting with Ipoh.  Joe holds degrees in Economics and Accounting.

Thea Mahony is the Regional Marketing Manager, responsible for branding and strategy for  large format and neighbourhood centre assets within the group.

With over 6 years’ experience in media, retail and property, she believes that creating a meaningful consumer journey with a focus on place-making, branding and marketing is vital. Thea has a great understanding of client relationships and possesses the ability to develop meaningful strategies to solve business objectives.  

She previously held marketing positions at Bauer Media Group, Australian Geographic and Lederer Group
